Structural master plan

General conditions

In line with the architectural master plan, we created a system that guides patients and visitors safely to their destination, even amid frequent facility relocations and diversions.

Navigation

– Mobile wayfinding system for patients and visitors of the UKSH
– Usable also for mobility-impaired persons
– Data maintenance via the backend system
– Consideration of corporate identity
– Seamless transition from outdoor navigation to indoor navigation
– Data protection-compliant navigation

Multimedia

– Accessible via the smartphone app for iOS and Android
– Usable via terminals in the entrance areas of the main buildings in Kiel and Lübeck
– Access to the web version via scanning the QR code
– Printable version available for indoor navigation

Backend system

– Independent management of navigation data
– Customization of route modes for pedestrians, mobility-impaired persons, cyclists, and drivers
– Closure of route sections that cannot be used during construction phases. The system automatically calculates an alternative route and validates whether it can be used by pedestrians and people with mobility impairments.
– Planning and management of facility relocations with immediate or scheduled consideration of the changed location in the navigation software
– Erstellung von QR-Codes mit hinterlegter Navigationsroute, die z,B. that can be placed on signage, in letters with appointment notifications, or on event flyers

The UKSH app can be downloaded from the iOS and Android app stores. It offers features such as outdoor navigation, indoor navigation, news, events, a phone book, facilities, appointments, and access to the backend system.
